New Haven, Conn. - Sophomore Jessica Coughlin (Durham, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's tennis team has been named as the Albertus Magnus Female Student-Athlete of the Week. Initiated in September, 2017, the 'Athlete of the Week' program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
Coughlin owned a 2-0 mark at singles play, while going 1-1 in doubles action at number one.The sophomore earned her first win of the season with a 8-1 win over Sarah Lawrence at No. 1 doubles and added a 10-5 win at No. 1 singles for her first double-winning match. She concluded the week with a 1-1 mark against Pratt, including a 6-2, 6-4 No. 1 singles victory.
The women's tennis team is back in action on Friday, September 14 at Suffolk University.
