NEW HAVEN, Conn. — In this week's "Taking Flight" Players of the Week, Colleen Edwards (Clinton, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College softball team had a dominant performance in the diamond.
Edwards drove in a pair of Falcons and notched a trio of runs on five hits. The junior matched her career-high with her third triple of the season after putting in the wheels against New England College for two three-baggers. Edwards landed on base six times against NEC and two extra-base hits in the 4-0 shutout. On the road at Wesleyan, the shortstop contributed to an explosive double play after the Cardinal hit a line drive to Edwards who then lobbed the ball to third base to exit the inning.
