Angelina Piccirillo and Jahmerikah Green-Younger Named Albertus Magnus College Student-Athletes of the Week

New Haven, Conn. - Senior Angelina Piccirillo (Naugatuck, Conn.) of the women's basketball team and sophomore Jahmerikah Green-Younger (Norwalk, Conn.) of the men's basketball team have been named as the Albertus Magnus Student-Athletes of the Week. Initiated in September, 2017, the 'Athlete of the Week' program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.

Piccirillo averaged 12.0 points and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 53.3 percent from the field in a 1-1 week for the Falcons. She opened the week scoring a season-high 16 points, six rebounds, three steals and an assist in a GNAC win over the University of Saint Joseph's (Conn.) before concluding the week with an eight-point, one-rebound performance in the loss to Saint Joseph's of Maine.

Green-Younger helped the Falcons to a 2-0 week as the sophomore guard averaged 18.0 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals a game. He began the week tying his career-high in points with 24 on 8-of-15 shooting with one rebounds, two steals and a block in the win over JWU. Green-Younger finished out the week scoring 12 points, two rebounds and a collected a season-high three steals against Saint Joseph's of Maine.

The women's basketball team returns to action this week with a road game at Johnson & Wales on Tuesday and home GNAC tilt against Simmons on Saturday. The men's basketball team hosts SUNY Canton Tuesday evening on Senior Night before concluding the regular season with a road game at Johnson & Wales on Saturday.
