Jessica Coughlin and Emmanuel Yeboah Named Albertus Magnus College Student-Athletes of the Week

New Haven, Conn. - Sophomore Jessica Coughlin (Durham, Conn.) of the women's tennis team and freshman Emmanuel Yeboah (Hamden, Conn.) of the men's soccer team have been named as the Albertus Magnus College Student-Athletes of the Week. Initiated in September, 2017, the 'Athlete of the Week' program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.

In a 1-1 week for the Falcons, Coughlin owned a 2-0 mark at singles play, while going 1-1 in doubles action at number one.The sophomore earned her first win of the season with an 8-1 win over Sarah Lawrence at No. 1 doubles and added a 10-5 win at No. 1 singles for her first double-winning match. She concluded the week with a 1-1 mark against Pratt, including a 6-2, 6-4 No. 1 singles victory.

Yeboah recorded a goal and an assist for three points in a 1-1 week for the Falcons. In the overtime win over Purchase, the rookie assisted on the Falcons' first goal of the game before finding the back of the net for the game-winning goal at the 95th minute.

The men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, September 12 as the Falcons host Norwich University in their GNAC opener. The women's tennis team is back in action on Friday, September 14 at Suffolk University.
