Albertus Magnus Athletics Announces Grand Opening of New Weight Training Facility

New Haven, Conn. – After months of construction, the Albertus Magnus College Athletic Department officially opened the new weight training facility within the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center.

The weight room recently underwent an overhaul throughout the entire space with state-of-the-art amenities from Matrix Fitness.

"The college has made a serious commitment to the athletic department by building a state-of-the-art weight training facility," said Ivo Wesseling, Director of Sports Performance and Athletic Training. "The brand new facility has been outfitted with all the tools needed to build a faster and stronger student-athlete."

Albertus student-athletes now have access to four air bikes, four rowers, three s-drives (to simulate sled pushes and parachute sprints), four GHD's (glute-ham developer), eight squat spots, plyo boxes, slam balls, dumbbells, over 3, 000lbs of bumper plates and three sets of eight barbells (men's bars, women's bars, beginner bars).
