NEW HAVEN, Conn. - At halftime of the Albertus Magnus College men's soccer game against Anna Maria College on Saturday afternoon, the Albertus Magnus Athletic Department held a short ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 2012 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Soccer Championship team.
On November 3, 2012, the Falcons battled Norwich University to a scoreless draw after regulation and two overtime periods. After forcing the game into a shootout, a diving save by Falcon goalkeeper Donato Piroscafo secured the Falcons' 6-5 shootout victory as Albertus earned its second GNAC Tournament title and its first in over 10 years.
The Falcons finished the year 15-4-3 after making the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
