NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Paula Matheus (Tunja-Boyaca, Colombia) of the Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team and Lorenzo Lauria (New Haven, Conn.) of the men's soccer team were named the Takin' Flight Falcons of the Week for their performance this past week.
Matheus had 11 kills and six aces over two matches against SUNY Maritime (N.Y.) and Medgar Evers College on Saturday. The junior also recorded four kills in matches against Curry and Mitchell.
Lauria scored a hat trick, including the game-winning goal as the Falcons rallied from a second half deficit to defeat Saint Joseph's College of Maine (SJC), 4-3 on Saturday. He also scored in a 4-0 victory over Mitchell on Tuesday.
