Kristen (Altieri) DeCarli ‘14, DBA, MBA currently serves as Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) for the Albertus Magnus College Department of Athletics, while she is employed by the college as an Assistant Professor of Sport Management and Business in the Tagliatela School of Business and Leadership.

Before moving over to the academic side of the College full-time, she served as an Associate Director of Athletics for Albertus, earning that title in 2013. Prior to that appointment, DeCarli spent five months as Acting Director of Athletics in addition to her sports information responsibilities.

DeCarli started at Albertus on July 5, 2011 as Assistant Director of Athletics, Sports Information Director, and SWA, after serving as Athletic Communications Assistant at the University of Connecticut from July 2007 to July 2011. While at UConn, DeCarli served as the primary media contact for eight different programs, including UConn’s powerhouse men’s soccer and baseball programs, and worked as an assistant media contact for the famed UConn women’s basketball team.

Prior to her time at UConn, DeCarli spent two years working in the Sports Information Office at Southern Connecticut State University, including a stint as Co-Interim Sports Information Director in 2007. DeCarli was involved in all facets of the Sports Information operation at Southern Connecticut State, and was the lead media contact during SCSU’s incredible run to the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship in 2007.

DeCarli graduated cum laude with a degree in Sport Management from Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts where she was also a member of the women’s volleyball program, captaining Endicott’s 2004 Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship team. DeCarli, a native of nearby Hamden, Connecticut, was a three-sport captain at Hamden High and was inducted into the Hamden High School Athletic Hall of Fame in November 2019.

DeCarli earned her MBA from Albertus Magnus in 2014 and went on to earn her Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) from California Southern University in 2020.
