Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the women's volleyball team was unable to compete in a regular season and GNAC Tournament.
The 2019 season saw the Falcons post a 9-21 overall record and a 2-10 mark in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). Albertus topped Anna Maria and Saint Joseph's (Me.) in league action, the latter featuring a thrilling 37-35 fourth set.
In 2018, the volleyball team finished the season with an overall mark of 12-17 that was highlighted by a trio of GNAC win's against Norwich, Anna Maria, and Saint Joseph's (CT). Albertus landed 11th in the GNAC with a 3-9 mark in league play.
In 2017, the volleyball team enjoyed its best season in more than 20 years. Rosario and the Falcons concluded the year with a 16-14 overall record and a 4-8 league mark. The 16 wins were the most in-season since 2012 when that year’s squad won 12 matches. The Falcons also finished with a .333 mark in the GNAC conference, their best figure since joining the league. Also this season, the volleyball team rallied together a six-game winning streak, including a pair of wins against new opponents Dean and Old Westbury. The team also won back-to-back matches on four different occasions. The club concluded the season with a 3-0 sweep against Emmanuel (Mass.) to earn their first program win over the Saints as well as snapped a four-game losing streak against Anna Maria, following a 3-0 win earlier this fall.
In 2016, the Falcons ended the 2016 fall season with a 7-20 overall record and landed in 12th-place in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with an 0-11 mark in league action. In her second year at the helm of the program, head Coach Vanessa Rosario guided the Falcons to non-conference wins against York, Elms, Purchase State, Medgar Evers, and CCNY while defeating both the Cardinals and Cougars twice during the autumn. The team also won back-to-back matches on two separate occasions in the fall.
In 2015, the Falcons posted a 5-18 overall record and landed in 11th-place in the GNAC with a 1-10 mark in league matches. In her first year at the helm of the program, Rosario guided Albertus Magnus to non-conference wins against York, Medgar Evers, Purchase, and Elms, while also topping conference foe Norwich, 3-0, on the road.
Rosario, a 2007 graduate of Hyde Leadership High School in Hamden and a 2011 graduate of Springfield College, also received her Masters of Social Work from Springfield College in 2012.
As a setter, Rosario led Hyde to conference and state tournament appearances during her senior year as she was named a Second Team All-State selection in 2005. In 2006, she earned First-Team All-State honors in 2006.
While at Springfield College, she played on the Junior Varsity team as a Libero and defensive specialist. She credits joining Pequenas Ligas Hispana de New Haven Volleyball program at age 14 for her improvement as a player.
