Christina (Quirk) Mitaly Promoted to Head Athletic Trainer

Albertus Magnus College has announced that Christina (Quirk) Mitaly has been promoted to Head Athletic Trainer after serving as an assistant for the past three years.

“The hiring of Christina Mitaly as Head Athletic Trainer marks a major step for the Albertus Magnus College Athletic Department. As our programs have grown and become more competitive, the need for a full-time trainer became readily apparent, and we not only filled a significant need for our student-athletes, we did so with an individual who has gained tremendous respect from our student-athletes and staff during the last three years,” said Director of Athletics Michael Spinner. “Christina has been a fantastic member of our team since she arrived here, and as our assistant athletic trainer, proved to be reliable, hard-working, and talented as an athletic trainer.

“As head athletic trainer, I think her presence in the office on a daily basis will serve as a major benefit to our programs. I am very thankful to Albertus Magnus College for allowing us to make this move, and thrilled that Christina Mitaly is our new head athletic trainer,” added Spinner.

Mitaly, a 2009 graduate of Colby Sawyer College and a Milford, Conn. native, joined the Albertus Magnus Athletic Department in August of 2009 after earning her BA in Exercise Science with a concentration in Athletic Training.

While at Colby Sawyer, Mitaly interned at St. Paul High School in Concord, N.H. and worked with the women’s basketball program at Division I Dartmouth College. She also worked with the Colby Sawyer baseball team.

Mitaly was a four-year letter winner with the Chargers as she was a two-year starting goalkeeper for the Colby Sawyer women’s soccer program. She currently holds the single-season shutout record for the Chargers at eight from the 2007 season.

Mitaly is an NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer and is licensed in the State of Connecticut.
