Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The Albertus Magnus College baseball team began their spring break trip with a 24-3 setback against Washington College at the Ripken Experience on Sunday evening at Griffith Stadium. With the win, the Shoremen improve to 4-1-1 on the year, while the Falcons move to 0-2 on the spring with the non-conference loss.

Washington College jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead after two innings and never looked back en route to the victory. The Shoremen scored three times without the benefit of a hit in the bottom of the first to stake an early 3-0 advantage.

Albertus Magnus plated all three of its runs in the top of the sixth inning. During the frame, senior first basemen Steven Lockman (Wallingford, Conn.) delivered a two-out double that scored two runs and classmate Jordan Kubilus (Cheshire, Conn.) followed with a single that brought Lockman charging home.

Lockman and Kubilus paced the Falcon attack, combining for four of the team's 10 hits.

Defensively, AMC committed four errors that led to three unearned runs.

Albertus Magnus returns to action on Monday, March 14, with a doubleheader against Washington College that gets underway at noon.  For live stats for game one click here and for game two click here.
