Field Hockey Concludes Second Season at Regis (Mass.)

WESTON, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College field hockey team concluded the 2019 season, the second in program history, with a 4-0 loss to Regis College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon in Weston, Mass.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride took an early 1-0 lead in the ninth minute. Following a penalty corner, Ashley Chipman corralled a rebounded shot in the circle and found the back of the cage for her third goal of the year.

Regis built its advantage to 2-0 with a goal by Sheridan Blaha in the 16th minute. Capitalizing on another penalty corner, Blaha tipped a Chipman pass from the top of the arc past the Falcons' keeper for the score.

The Pride secured the victory with insurance goals in the 44th and 52nd minutes. Nora Buck scored in the 44th minute off of a rebound of her shot, while Hope Celli found daylight in the 52nd minute on a shot redirection after a corner.

Mikayla Lyston (Medford, N.Y.) did her part to keep the Falcons close, making 12 saves on 16 shots on goal. On the offensive end of the field, Ariana Martin (Hamden, Conn.) paced Albertus with the team's only shot in the fourth quarter.

• Lyston ends her freshman season as the NCAA leader in saves per game (16.00).
• In total, Lyston has made a program-record 208 saves this year, 67 more than the next GNAC player.
