HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first quarter, the action picked up quickly in the second frame. The Falcons scored their first goal of the season 22:46 into the contest, an unassisted strike from A. Duranleau.

However, the visitors did not trail for long as they evened the score at 1-1 just under five minutes later. Kat Conforti netted the goal, streaking into the circle all alone before finding the back of the cage.

Albertus immediately answered back by retaking the lead, 2-1, on another A. Duranleau tally. Danielle Brodman (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) inserted from the left hash on a penalty corner, finding A. Duranleau, who fired a shot by the keeper from just inside the circle with just 1:31 remaining before halftime.

The Bulldogs came out of the halftime break as a new team, ramping up the pressure to hold the ball in their half. This added offense led to Dean's second goal, as Maire Brown rebounded a Zoe Coleman shot and beat a defender before evening the score at 2-2 at the 33:18 mark.

Dean took its first lead of the contest 8:49 into the third quarter. This time, Jordyn McKenney gathered a Brown pass in the circle and snuck it into the cage to give the visitors a 3-2 advantage.

The Bulldogs held the Falcons scoreless for the remainder of the game by controlling possession in the second half. Albertus did not tally a shot in the half but did log three penalty corners. Nevertheless, Dean held off the home team to secure its first GNAC win of the season.

Mikayla Lyston (Medford, N.Y.) continued giving opposing offenses fits this morning, tallying 13 saves on Dean's 16 shots. Lyston has recorded 13-plus saves in every game this season.
