Falcons Soar to 89-77 Win Over Suffolk

Boston, MA - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball team used a balanced scoring attack and led by double digits for most of the game against host and Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Suffolk University on Saturday afternoon.  Four Falcons players scored in double digits with two additional players scoring nine and eight points respectively.

The Falcons opened the game on a 12-2 run and never looked back.  They would take a 41-26 into halftime and held a 56-47 advantage on the boards for the game.

Junior forward Ray Askew (Hamden, CT/Career) scored a team high 22 points and game high 14 rebounds while senior guard Walden St. Juste (Hartford, CT/Bulkeley) scored 16.  Sophomore center Jefferson Lora (Bronx, NY/Lyman Hall) scored 15 points and had eight rebounds.  Junior guard Byron Reaves (Hamden, CT/Hamden) chipped in 10 points.

Suffolk was led by sophomore center Matt Pepdjonovic (Quincy, MA/Boston College) who had a game high 24 points, a team high 13 rebounds, and four blocks.  Senior guard Mike Fleming (Exeter, NH/Tilton) added 17 points for the home team.

Albertus improves to 8-7, 6-2 GNAC while Suffolk drops to 5-10, 3-5 GNAC.

The Falcons host GNAC opponent Johnson and Wales University on Tuesday at 7:00 pm in a pivotal conference game for each team.
