Falcons Win Fifth Straight 99-90 Over St. Joe's Maine

New Haven, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team won their fifth straight game with a 99-90 victory over visiting Great Northeast Athletic opponent St. Joseph's College (ME).

The Falcons battled into halftime leading 50-44 amid 5 lead changes and 7 ties in the first half of play. Albertus used a 8-0 run midway through the second half to take a 81-65 lead with 7:50 remaining and take control of the game.

Albertus was led by senior guard Shaquille Mitchell (Linden, NJ) and his game-high 29 points with 5 rebounds.  Junior forward Jaqhawn Walters (Hartford, Conn.) added 22 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for the Falcons.  Sophomore guard Ryan Pittman (Stratford, Conn.) and senior guard Devin Coleman (Bridgeport, Conn.) each added 14 points for the hosts.

St. Joseph's College was led by sophomore guard Ian Milekis (Auburn, Maine) and his team-high 20 points, game-high 6 assists, and 6 rebounds.  Classmate Ben Malloy (Standish, Maine) added 18 points while junior forward Quinn Richardson-Newton (Saco, Maine) added 16 points.

The Falcons improve to 11-3, 7-1 GNAC while St. Joseph's College drops to 7-7, 4-3 GNAC this season.

Albertus returns to action on Tuesday at 7:00 pm when they play the second half of a GNAC doubleheader with Lasell College.
