Men's Basketball Tops Johnson & Wales, 82-73

New Haven, Conn. - Behind a career-high 23 points from sophomore Jahmerikah Green-Younger (Norwalk, Conn.), the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball defeated GNAC foe Johnson & Wales, 82-73, Tuesday evening at "The Nest" inside the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Albertus Magnus and Johnson & Wales battled back-and-forth over the first 12 minutes of play forcing four ties before a layup from Jemma Yuori (Ghana) gave the Falcons a 10-point lead, 27-17, with 8:52 remaining. Shortly after, the Wildcats found themselves within six, 27-21, following a pair of free throws from Jarell Lawson until a short spurt put the hosts' lead back up to 10, 34-24.

The Falcons would close out the first half with a 16-5 run to take a 40-29 lead at the half.

Albertus Magnus saw its lead grow to as many as 18 in the second half and Johnson & Wales was able to cut it to six, 72-66, with 4:12 to play. However, from that point on the Falcons were able to seal the home win and remain undefeated in the GNAC.

  • Johnson & Wales had its six-game winning streak snapped following tonight's win.
  • At home, the Falcons are now 9-1.
  • Liam Perryman (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) posted a season-best two blocks to go along with five rebounds.
