New Haven, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team improved to 4-2 on the season as the Falcons defeated in-state rival Mitchell College by a score of 106-83 Sunday evening in non-conference play at "The Nest" inside the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletics Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:

• Albertus controlled the opening five minutes of play with the early 20-8 lead behind eight points from junior Jahmerikah Green-Younger (Norwalk, Conn.).
• Over the next three minutes, Mitchell put together a 13-6 run to cut the Falcons' lead to within five, 26-21.
• The Falcons answered back with a 13-6 run, including 11 points from freshman Davon Warner (New Haven, Conn.), to put the team up 12, 39-27, with 7:33 remaining.
• Mitchell battled back to within 10, 50-40, following a three from Leonard Williams, but Albertus would head into the locker room up 16, 64-48.

Second Half:

• Albertus maintained its double-digit lead for the remainder of regulation to secure the home win.
• The closest Mitchell got to within the Falcons was at the 11:05 mark as Domenico Santiago made the layup cutting the hosts' lead to 14, 83-69.
• The Falcons largest lead of the game was at 26, 106-80, with 18 seconds left on the clock following back-to-back three's from Marquise Owens (Thorafare, N.J.).
