Men's Golf Finishes Third at the Mitchell Tournament

Groton, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team opened the 2017 fall season with a third-place finish at the Mitchell Tournament on Friday afternoon. The one-day, 18-hole event was contested at the par-71, 6,562-yard Shennecossett Golf Course.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Albertus Magnus senior Zach Schatz (East Haven, Conn.) carded the low round of the day for the Falcons with an 87 to finish sixth overall along with Brian Bak of Wentworth and Mike Izzo of Mitchell, who also carded an 87.
 
In his first event with the team, freshman Quinn Oliver finished next for the Falcons with a score of 98. Eight points behind Oliver was junior Elijah Thomas (New Haven, Conn.) who finished the day with a 106.
 
Rounding out the field for the Falcons was Brennan Moore (Meriden, Conn.) with 113 and senior Tom Crocco (Kings Park, N.Y.) with 120.

Albertus Magnus returns to action on Sept. 14 as the Falcons take part in the MCLA Invitational. Tee-time is set for 11 a.m. at the Berkshire Country Club.
