Men’s Golf Defeats Purchase for First Victory Since 2016

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team kicked off the 2019 campaign with a victory over Purchase College, 340-359, at the Alling Memorial Golf Course. Ryan Sember (Branford, Conn.) paced the team with a final score of 77 (+5) to lead the Falcons to their first dual-match win since Oct. 07, 2016.

NOTES

  • The Falcons' low scorer on the day, Sember, became the first Albertus golfer to card a sub-80 round since Jason Brennan (East Haven, Conn.) logged a six-over 78 on Sep. 21, 2018.
  • Sember, David Aquavia (Oakville, Conn.) and Liam Dean (Branford, Conn.) all made their debuts for the Falcons in today's match.
  • Albertus' last victory came against Eastern Nazarene at the Alling Memorial Golf Course in 2016.
  • Today's win marks the fourth triumph in the program's short history.
