The Albertus Magnus men's lacrosse team opened the 2015 season with an 11-5 loss at Emerson College on Tuesday night in non-conference action.  Sophomore Dalton Sargent (Augusta, Maine) registered three goals to lead the Falcons in his Albertus debut.

Emerson took a 1-0 lead in the first quarter before Sargent scored his first goal of the year at the 9:20 mark of the second quarter.  Sophomore Greg Buck (Berlin, Conn.) assisted on the play for his first points of the season.

Emerson scored three unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead at the halftime break. After another goal to give the Lions a 5-1 lead, sophomore Mike Choiniere (Bethany, Conn.) scored an unassisted goal, his first points of the season.  Sargent netted his second goal of the contest to cut the Lions' lead to 5-3 but Emerson scored three-straight goals to push their lead out to 8-3.

Both Buck and Sargent scored unassisted goals in the final quarter but Emerson scored two more goals to stay ahead and eventually win 11-5.

The Falcons registered 36 ground balls to Emerson's 31 and won 14 of the total 20 face offs in the contest.

Albertus' Jack Kerner (Merrick, N.Y.) finished the night with eight saves as he allowed all 11 goals.  Emerson's Jordan Maue allowed all five goals and made 11 stops in net.

The Falcons are scheduled to play at Mass Maritime on Saturday.
