Falcons Fall to Emmanuel in Men's Lacrosse 20-9

The Albertus Magnus men's lacrosse team fell to Emmanuel 20-9 on Saturday in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match-up in New Haven.
Despite holding the lead for the first 14 minutes of the contest, Emmanuel scored three goals in the final 2:23 of the first quarter to take a 3-2 lead after 15 minutes of play.
The Falcons kept the game close until the Saints registered three-straight goals to finish the half. Emmanuel went into the halftime break up 9-4.
Back-and-forth play got the Falcons to within four at 11-7 midway through the third quarter but theSaints outscored the Falcons 4-0 to finish the quarter and take a 15-7 advantage.
To start the final quarter, Albertus' Mike Choiniere (Bethany, Conn.) netted his team-leading 35th goal of the year but the Saints scored five out of the final six goals en route to the double-digit victory.
Choiniere led the Falcons with six goals and one assist, while Jack Kerner (Merrick, N.Y.) tallied 24 saves on the afternoon.
Emmanuel was led by Tony Cibelli with four goals, while Chris Curtis had three goals. In net, the Saints were led by Justin Byers with seven saves.
Emmanuel outshot the Falcons 65-22 as Curtis and Choiniere led all players with 11 shots each.
