Darryl Delia enters his eleventh year as the head men's lacrosse coach in the 2023-24 season after starting up the program in 2014.

In 2021, the men's lacrosse team finished the season with an overall mark of 2-7, including wins over Mitchell College and Salem State. The Falcons were held to a limited schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to the cancelation of the 2020 spring season by the GNAC as part of the NCAA's approach to limiting exposure to COVID-19, the men's lacrosse team played just two games that season. The Falcons finished with a 1-1 overall record, defeating MCLA at home by a 22-8 final score on March 3.

In 2019, the men's lacrosse team finished the season with an overall mark of 2-12 and advanced to the GNAC Tournament for the first time in program history behind a 1-7 league mark. The Falcons' two wins came at home against Regis (Mass.) and Becker.

The men's lacrosse team concluded the 2018 season with an overall record of 2-12, including wins over Mt. St. Vincent and in-state foe Mitchell College. Despite the Falcons' record, Delia's team still stepped up on the field ranking third in the league in face-off percentage with 52.7, and led the GNAC in shots per game with 29.1. In between the pipes, the men's lacrosse team ranked third in saves with 252 while junior John Brunetti (West Haven, Conn.) set a new school record with 31 saves against Johnson & Wales (R.I.).

In 2017, the men's lacrosse team finished the season with an overall mark of 3-12 and finished ninth in the GNAC. Two of the Falcons' wins came at home, including the teams' first season opener win on February 24, 2017, against Daniel Webster, while the third win came on the road at Becker.

Throughout the spring, Delia's crew set numerous personal bests, including junior Jack Kerner who recorded his 500th career save against Mount Ida. Along with Kerner, Greg Buck also recorded another milestone as he ended his tenure with the Falcons with a program-best 200 points. Senior Justin Bennet, who was named to the All-Conference Second Team, leaves his name all over the record book as he leads the program in ground balls, man-down goals, and face-off wins.

It was a record-setting season for the Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team in 2016 as the Falcons ended the year with a 4-10 overall record and finished eighth in the GNAC. The team set a new school record with four wins as AMC scored victories against Anna Maria, Wheelock, Emerson, and Mount St. Vincent.

During the spring of 2016, the Falcons had two different players honored by the league with weekly accolades. Following the campaign, junior attackmen Greg Buck earned All- GNAC distinction. Under Delia's tutelage, Buck also became the first player in program history to score 100 career goals.

In 2015, the program's second year in existence, Delia led the Falcons to three victories, including wins over Mitchell, Anna Maria, and Lyndon State.  He also coached the program's first-ever Academic All-American in Mike Choiniere, who was ranked in the top-five of the country in scoring. Choiniere was also named to the GNAC All-Conference First Team and was named to the Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Team for Division III District 2. Additionally, Choiniere was named to the NEILA East-West Senior All-Star Game.

He led the Falcons in their first varsity season in 2014 as the program picked up three victories on the year.  On March 20, 2014, the program picked up its first-ever win with a 26-13 victory over Lyndon State on its home turf field.  The Falcons' first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory came on March 26, 2014, with a 10-6 win over Anna Maria College, also at home in New Haven.

All three of the Falcons' wins in 2014 came on their home Celentano Field.

Delia coached sophomore Mike Choiniere (Bethany, Conn.) to receiving the program's first-ever league and regional honors as he was named both the GNAC and ECAC Offensive Player of the Week on multiple occasions before earning GNAC All-Conference Second Team honors.

Prior to Albertus Magnus, Delia spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Sacred Heart University, a Division I member of the Northeast Conference that competed in the Colonial Athletic Association – one of the most competitive lacrosse conferences in the country – for two of Delia’s three seasons on the sidelines. At Sacred Heart, Delia served as both offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator for the Pioneers.

Prior to Sacred Heart, Delia helped patrol the sidelines at Division I Fairfield University from 2004-2008 as the Stags competed in the Great Western Lacrosse League with conference members such as Notre Dame and Ohio State. While working at Fairfield, Delia served as offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator, and managed the team’s equipment, fundraising efforts, and all elements of travel and video exchange. With Delia running the offense, Fairfield won the GWLL Championship during the 2005 season and competed in the NCAA Tournament.

Delia also spent five seasons at Yale University where he served as the top assistant coach at the Ivy League power and then was Interim Head Coach during the 2003 season.  During the 2003 campaign, Delia led the Bulldogs to a 9-5 overall record competing in arguably the nation’s toughest lacrosse conference. Twice during Delia’s tenure at Yale, the Bulldogs’ offense was ranked in the top-10, nationally. While at Yale, Delia was one of only a handful of coaches nationally to serve as a selector for the United States World Team in 2000.

Delia’s ties to lacrosse in Connecticut date back to 1994 when he began a two-year run as Assistant Coach at Hamden Hall High School. In 1996, Delia took over his own program when he accepted the position of Head Boys’ Lacrosse Coach at Guilford High School, a position he held for two seasons. He also served as the Head Wrestling Coach at East Haven High School from 1991-2004. Currently, Delia is the Executive Director of Lacrosse at Break-out Athlete, a clinic/camp program based out of Connecticut.

Delia is currently the Offensive Coordinator for the Ohio Machine men's lacrosse team after joining the squad back in 2016. In 2017, Delia helped the Ohio Machine win its first-ever Major League Men's Lacrosse Championship after defeating the Denver Outlaws by a score of 17-12.
