Falcons Battle Nichols to Scoreless Tie in Double OT

The Albertus Magnus men's soccer team battled Nichols College to a scoreless double-overtime tie in non-conference action on Monday night.

The Falcons move to 13-2-1 on the year with their first tie of the season as they remain unbeaten in their last 13 games. Nichols is now 9-4-2 overall.

Albertus was held under 10 shot attempts for the first time all season, as Nichols outshot the Falcons 13-8 on the night, including an 8-3 clip in the second half of play.

Jamal Howard (West Haven, Conn.) took five of Albertus' shots and registered the Falcons only two shots on goal.

Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) picked up his sixth shutout of the season as he moved to 13-2-1 on the year between the pipes. The sophomore made four saves in 110 minutes of work.

Nichols' George Quireyns and Brendan Hamilton split time in net for the Bison as Hamilton made two stops in 65 minutes of play.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday, Oct. 22 in a home contest against Lasell. That match is scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m., following the Albertus Magnus women's soccer contest, which begins at 1:00 p.m. This weekend is also the college's Fall Fest Weekend.
