Falcons Edged by Saint Joseph's College 2-1

The Albertus Magnus men's soccer team fell to Saint Joseph's College 2-1 in league action on Saturday afternoon in Standish, Maine.

With the loss, the Falcons fall to 1-7 on the year, while the Monks improve to 6-1-1 overall and remain unbeaten in league play with a 3-0 record.

The Monks' Yani Rakis scored the first goal of the game just 1:36 into the contest to give his team a 1-0 lead.  Later in the first half, the Falcons' Erik Tomin scored an unassisted goal to tie the game but 1:35 later the Monks scored the eventual game winner. Kyle Shangraw tallied the game winner for the Monks.

Lindsley Barrett (Shelton, Conn.) led the Falcons with three shots, while Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) made eight saves in net.

Saint Joseph's Scott Benner tallied two saves for the Monks.
