Men's Soccer Falls in Overtime Thriller Versus Pine Manor, 4-3

BROOKLINE, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College men's soccer team fell to Pine Manor College, 4-3, in overtime on Saturday, Sept. 7. Freshman Anthony Barreira (Beacon Falls, Conn.) led the team with five points on two goals and one assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Junior Salah Oumorou (West Haven, Conn.) continued his hot start to the season, opening the game's scoring in the 23rd minute. The goal, which is Oumorou's fifth on the year, was assisted by Barreira.

Following an answer by the Gators in the 48th minute, Barreira and Oumorou connected again to give the Falcons the lead back, 2-1, just under a minute later.

The Gators tied the score again at 2-2 with a 70th-minute strike from Jose Gonzalez, his first of the day. About eight minutes later, the Falcons took their third one-goal advantage of the contest, 3-2, behind an unassisted tally from Barreira.

Unfortunately for Albertus, Pine Manor tied the score at 3-all with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation. In overtime, Gonzalez secured the win for the Gators at the 99:55 mark with his second goal of the afternoon.
