Men's Soccer Draws Lasell in Home GNAC Action

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's soccer team put together another strong defensive performance on Wednesday afternoon, battling to a 1-1 draw with the Lasers of Lasell University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Kelvin Cortez (Meriden, Conn.) netted the lone goal for the Falcons, while Garfield Robinson (West Haven, Conn.) and David Lucero (East Haven, Conn.) split time in the net, making five saves between them.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Neither the Falcons nor the Lasers could get on the board in the first half, as the teams combined for 17 shot attempts.
• After their stellar defensive first half, the Falcons struck first with a goal by Cortez on a penalty shot in the 61st minute to take a 1-0 advantage.
• The Lasers tied the game up in the 84th minute on an unassisted goal by Jaydon Perez to knot the score at 1-all.
• Despite a barrage of shots from the Falcons throughout the match, the Lasers' Cameron McDonough made 10 saves to keep the Falcons' offense at bay and preserve the 1-1 draw.
