NEW HAVEN, Conn. — To close out the season, the Albertus Magnus College men's tennis team boasted a doubleheader sweep (4-0, 5-2) over the visiting John Jay University Bloodhounds on Tuesday at Celentano Courts.
Albertus swept in singles action in game one, including a debut win by Sam Anderson (Calgary, Alberta) at No. 3 Singles in a strong 6-0 showing against Mariam Caraza. Bailey Kirwin (Barrie, Ontario) and Cody Walker (Boise, Idaho ) both notched solo points for the Falcons at number one and two singles, respectively.
First-time partners of Kirwin and Anderson tabbed the first doubles win at No. 3 for a commanding 6-1 victory. The visitors took No. 2 Doubles win to even the score, but Justin Arvelo (Waterbury, Conn.) and Diego Martinez Jimenez secured the Doubles points following a 6-4 victory over John Jay at No. 1.
Anderson continued to dominate for the Falcons as he tabbed a No. 6 Singles victory and a No. 2 Doubles win with Walker as his court partner.
