Falcons Earn 10th Win of Season; Down Sarah Lawrence 3-0

The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team earned its 10th win of the season as the Falcons cruised to a 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-11) win over Sarah Lawrence on Monday night in Bronxville, N.Y.

The Falcons are now 10-1 on the year after tonight's victory. In each of the Falcons' 10 wins, they have shutout their opponents 3-0 in every match, a remarkable feat.

With the loss, Sarah Lawrence drops to 3-12 on the year.

Brendan Charamut (Southington, Conn.) continued to dominate at the net as he recorded 10 kills in tonight's match to mark the 10th time this season he has registered a double-digit kill tally in a match.

Carlos Torres (Adjuntas, Puerto Rico) dished out 24 assists in the contest, while adding two kills and two digs. Douglas DeSousa (Danbury, Conn.) led the Falcons with eight digs on the night as he added four kills.

Freshman Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) contributed with a six-kill effort, while he hit a team-best .417 on the night.

The Falcons registered 11 digs in the opening set but recorded six hitting errors to give the Gryphons six of their 13 points. In that set, Albertus hit just .167 but answered back in the second set with a .429 outing. In the second set, the Falcons recorded 12 kills in 21 attempts with only three unforced hitting errors.

Sarah Lawrence's kill-high was in the second set as the Gryphons recorded six in 21 tries. On the night, the Falcons held Sarah Lawrence to a -.029 hitting percentage as the host team had just 15 kills in 70 attempts.

The Falcons will play their fourth match in three days on Tuesday as they travel to Wentworth for a 7:00 p.m. GNAC contest.
