Falcons Drop 3-0 Decision at Emmanuel

The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-13) decision at Emmanuel in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Falcons move to 17-7 on the year and 5-7 in league play.

Chris Pfeffer (Torrington, Conn.) led the Falcons on the night with six kills in 12 attempts. He added four digs as well in the loss.

Emmanuel (14-9, 12-2 GNAC) was led by Tom McCaffrey with eight kills in eight tries, while Nick Updike added 26 assists and a team-high seven digs.

The Saints recorded double-digit kills in each set to secure their 12th league victory on the year. The Falcons struggled in the match as they hit under .000 in both of the first sets. In the final set, Albertus recorded 11 kills in 24 attempts for a 33.3-percentage.

Douglas DeSousa (Danbury, Conn.) added four kills, three digs and six assists for the Falcons, while Carlos Torres (Adjuntas, Puerto Rico) dished out 12 assists and tallied three kills.

The Falcons will host Wentworth and Johnson & Wales (R.I.) on Saturday in their final tri-match of the season. Albertus and Wentworth will face off at 11:00 a.m. in the first match of the weekend.
