Falcons Suffer First Loss of 2013; Fall to Daniel Webster 3-0

The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season as the Falcons were defeated by Daniel Webster 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-16) on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

Daniel Webster (4-4) was led by Joel Hendrix with 14 kills on 21 tries as he recorded a .524 hitting percentage. Albertus (4-1) was led by freshman Justin Tharau (Burlington, Conn.), who finished the match with nine kills.

Carlos Torres (Adjuntas, Puerto Rico) dished out a match-high 23 assists. Both the opening and second sets were close as the Falcons dropped the first set 25-21 as they recorded a match-high 15 kills on 37 attempts. In the second set, the Falcons were edged by DWC 26-24.

Mike Clark (North Haven, Conn.) added a team-best six digs in the contest for the Falcons.

Kyle Clement paced Daniel Webster's offense with 22 assists, while both Joe Walz and Hendrix added seven digs apiece.
