Falcons Cruise to 3-0 Win at Yeshiva

The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-9, 25-16) victory over Yeshiva on Monday night in non-conference action as the Falcons improved to 7-3 on the year with the victory.

Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) led the Falcons with 12 kills in 16 attempts for a .625 hitting percentage, while the sophomore added seven digs.  He recorded six of his 12 kills in the third set as the Falcons secured the match win with a 25-16 victory.

Chase Brinton (Bethany, Conn.) added nine kills in 12 attempts with zero hitting errors as he posted a .750 hitting percentage. Brinton chipped in with four service aces well. Freshman Justin Tharau (Burlington, Conn.) finished the match with seven kills in nine tries, including a four-kill performance in the second set. In that set, the Falcons cruised to a dominating 25-9 victory.

Matt Brancaccio (West Haven, Conn.) also played in the final set and recorded two kills in three tries. Albertus recorded 22 kills in 33 tries in the final set, while Yeshiva recorded just 13 kills total on the night. Yeshiva dropped to 3-11 on the year with the loss.

Albertus returns to action when the Falcons head to Boston, Mass. on Saturday to take on Emerson in a single match beginning at 1:00 p.m.
