Brittney Urciuoli (Newington, Conn.) went 2-for-3 with a triple to lead the Albertus Magnus softball team in a 4-0 loss to Emerson in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.
The Lions, who are currently at the top of the GNAC standings with a 22-2 league record, have now won 10 straight contests with their sweep of the Falcons in the Friday afternoon double-header.
Shannon Knox (Hamden, Conn.) added a 2-for-2 outing for the Falcons as both her and Urciuoli combined for the Falcons' four hits of the contest.
Emerson was led by Alexandra Magistro who picked up the win to improve to 13-3 on the season. Magistro threw the complete-game shutout as she allowed four hits and struck out six Falcons. Danielle Thuerling (Wallingford, Conn.) took the loss as she went seven innings, giving up eight hits, four runs and two walks.
