Resto and Stettinger Receive All-Conference Distinction

Winthrop, Mass. – Freshmen Kayla Resto (Shelton, Conn.) and Jess Stettinger (East Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College softball team earned All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honors as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. Resto and Stettinger both landed on the GNAC Second Team.

Stettinger recorded a strong year at the plate as the rookie batted .407 (50-123) while posting a monster .707 slugging percentage while also collecting a .460 on-base percentage. Stettinger also accumulated 16 doubles, three triples, five home runs and 34 RBI. She also finished the season with 37 runs scored to go along with 12 walks and 13 stolen bases.  She posted 15 multi-hit games, including a season-high four hits against Brooklyn College, and tallied a game-high four RBI and three runs scored at Anna Maria.

Resto enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign appearing in 35 games for Albertus Magnus in 2019. She scored 23 runs, knocked 34 hits, including four doubles, two triples, a home run, and picked up 14 RBI. She finished the season hitting .343 at the plate and recorded a .389 on-base percentage as well as posted a .455 slugging percentage. Resto tallied nine multi-hit games, highlighted by a 4-for-4 performance against Anna Maria.

Founded in 1995, the GNAC annually sponsors and administers 20 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunity and community involvement in an effort to enhance the student-athlete experience.
