WINTHROP, Mass. – Freshman catcher Anna Leone (Shelton, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College softball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Leone led the Falcons last week with eight hits behind a team-high four doubles and a triple. The freshman catcher finished the four games with a .571/.600/1.000 slash line for a 1.60 OPS with two runs scored and five RBI. She tallied four multi-hit games, including a RBI double to the right-center gap to lift the Falcons past Regis (Mass.), 3-2, for the game two victory.
