Carli (Matrisian) Colavolpe enters her second season as the interim head Albertus softball coach in 2023-24.

In Colavolpe's first year at the helm of the Albertus Magnus softball program, the team posted a 24-20 overall record. With a 9-3 mark in league play, the Falcons advanced to the GNAC Tournament as the No. 2S seed. In the postseason, Janelle Franklin (Middletown, Conn.) collected GNAC All-Conference Third Team honors.

Colavolpe has spent the past seven seasons with the Falcons, joining the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant before the 2016 campaign.

Colavolpe takes over at the helm of the Albertus softball team after former head coach Ed Emilieta recently announced he would be stepping down. Emilieta has helmed the Albertus softball team for the past 12 seasons and, to date, has an overall coaching record of 218-196. Under Coach Emielita's leadership, Albertus has appeared in seven consecutive GNAC Tournaments, beginning with the 2014 campaign.

As a player, Colavolpe transferred to Albertus in the Spring of 2014 for her final two seasons and appeared in 75 games as a shortstop for the softball team. A team captain as a senior, she helped lead the Falcons to 44 wins in two seasons, including a berth in the Great Northeast Conference Championship (GNAC) game and ECAC Championship game in 2015.

Outside of softball, Colavolpe works in the Admissions Department as an admissions counselor and serves as the Athletic Liaison for the College.
