Falcons Soar to 72-63 Win Over Emerson

New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Women's Basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to cruise to a 72-63 victory over visiting Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Emerson College on Saturday afternoon.  The Falcons had their entire starting five finish in double-figures the game.

Freshman guard Lianna Carrero (Hamden, CT/Hamden) had a game high 19 points on 9-13 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and four assists.  Junior forward Katelyn White (Enfield, CT/Fermi) added 13 points and eight rebounds while senior forward Bianca Brown (West Haven, CT/Career) added 12 points and eight rebounds.  Sophomore guard Shanilya Bush (New Haven, CT/Wilbur Cross) chipped in 16 points while freshman guard Lindsay Karle (Wallingford, CT/Lyman Hall) added 10.

The Falcons took a 35-21 lead into halftime and led by as many as 25 points in the game including double digits for the vast majority of the contest.

Emerson College was led by senior forward Kathy Andrade (Hull, MA/Hull) and her team high 18 points and game high 13 rebounds.  Sophomore forward Amber DiNucci (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaver Area) added a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Albertus improves to 8-10, 2-5 GNAC while Emerson College drops to 8-13, 6-2 GNAC.

The Falcons return to action on Tuesday night at 7:30 when they host GNAC opponent Simmons College.
