Albertus Upended by Johnson and Wales 73-60

Providence, R.I. - The Albertus Magnus College womens basketball team dropped a 73-60 decision to Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and host Johnson and Wales University on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons were out rebounded 51-33 including 21-6 on the offensive side leading to 12-0 margin in second chance points.  Albertus trailed 19-15 at the end of the first period.  The Wildcats would slowly build their lead resulting in the 73-60 final.  The Falcons ended the game on an 8-2 run battling until the final buzzer.

Albertus was led by junior forward Oliviva Bolden (South Windsor, Conn.) and her team-high 17 points and team-high 10 rebounds.  Johnson and Wales was lead by junior center Ashley Thompson (Bellingham, Mass.) and her game-high 34 points and game high 11 rebounds to go along with 3 steals and 2 blocks.

The Falcons drop to 8-7, 3-3 GNAC while Johnson and Wales improves to 7-6, 2-2 GNAC.

Albertus returns to action on Tuesday as the first part of a GNAC doubleheader when they host Lasell College at 5:00 pm.
