Women's Basketball Cruises Past Rivier, 101-60

Nashua, N.H. - Led by three double-digit scorers, including a career-high 35 points senior Olivia Bolden (South Windsor, Conn.), the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team cruised to a 101-60 win over Rivier University Thursday evening at Muldon Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Albertus Magnus and Rivier battled over the first five minutes of play as both teams led for no more than three points and battled through four ties. With the score tied at 13-13, Albertus Magnus took over on offense and went on a 24-0 run to bring the score to 37-13 with 7:45 remaining in the second. Rivier would rally to within 19, 45-26, on a jumper from Kaylee Kacavas, but would trail 55-30 heading into the locker room.
 
Throughout the remainder of the half and the game the Falcons controlled the tempo and maintained the advantage to earn their sixth straight win of the winter.

NOTEWORTHY

  • Following tonight's 35 point performance, Bolden has extended her career total in points to 1,725, just 180 points behind Lianna Carrero.
  • With tonight's win, the Falcons are now 19-10 against the Raiders.
  • On the road, the Falcons are 5-1.

  • Albertus Magnus - 53.9% (field goal), 26.3% (three point) and 58.3% (free throw)

  • In the first half, Albertus Magnus led Rivier in points of turnovers (15-0),  assists (15-3), block, (6-1), steals (8-0) and bench points (6-0).
  • Also in the first half, Bolden score an impressive 27 points on 13-19 shooting from the field.
  • Kaylee Kacavas led the Raiders on offense with a team-high 33 points while Megan Hamel rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 points.
  • Junior Jill Johnson (North Haven, Conn.) and Kiki Epps (Norwalk, Conn.) also scored in double-figures for the Falcons as the duo registered 19 and 18 points, respectively.
  • Albertus Magnus held a 46-45 edge in rebounds and recorded only four turnovers over a span of 20 minutes.
  • Rivier led in second chance points over Albertus Magnus, 12-8.
  • Freshman Andreah Orr (Danbury, Conn.) led the defensive unit for the Falcons with a team-high five blocks.
  • Junior Kristen Cunning (Hoboken, N.J.) and Johnson also helped the defensive unit as the duo registered two blocks each.
