Women's Basketball Wins Fourth Straight, Tops Endicott, 73-65

New Haven, Conn. – Both Shyla Osmond (New Haven, Conn.) and Rah Rah Thompson (Bridgeport, Conn.) logged double-doubles to propel the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team to a 73-65 victory over Endicott College on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Endicott and Albertus battled through two ties over the first three minutes of play before the Gulls found themselves up five, 10-5, following a deep three from Kaleigh Putnam with 3:11 on the clock.

The Falcons broke their scoreless drought at the 2:05 minute mark on a jumper from Andreah Orr (Danbury, Conn.), but the hosts trailed 12-9 at the end of one quarter.

Albertus came out of the short break with the hot hand as the Falcons held a six-point lead, 20-14, following an 11-2 run sparked by a layup from Thompson. Endicott was unable to stop the Falcons from taking its largest lead of the half with 10, 27-17, with less than two minutes remaining.

Despite cutting the deficit to six, 27-21, with 42 seconds left in the half, Endicott headed into the locker room down eight, 29-21.

Emily St. Thomas got Endicott's offense going in the third quarter as the freshman's layup sparked a 14-4 Gulls' run that evened the score at 35-35. A back-and-forth opening saw seven lead changes that had Albertus ahead by one, 48-47, at the midway point of the second half.

The margin grew to five, 55-50, in favor of the Gulls, with 7:22 remaining in regulation and the Falcons found themselves playing catch-up once again. This time around Kyah Nowlin (Stamford, Conn.) took over for the blue-and-white. The rookie scored five of the Falcons' next seven points evening the score at 57-57 at the 5:29 mark of the fourth. The hosts then built a nine-point lead, 68-59, with over the next three minutes to take hold of the contest.

A three-pointer from Emily Pratt brought the visitors to within six, 68-62, but the Falcons proved to be too much for the Gulls, 73-65.
