Women's Lacrosse Weekly Preview: Daniel Webster, Mitchell & Emmanuel

Last Week: The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team did not play last week during the College's spring break. The Falcons last took the field on Tuesday, March 8, in their home opener against Framingham State. Versus the Rams two weeks ago, three different Falcons netted unassisted tallies in a non-conference setback.

This Week: Albertus Magnus returns to action this week with a trio of contests. During the week, the Falcons will host Daniel Webster and Mitchell in non-conference play before traveling to the Bay State to square off with Emmanuel in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) on Saturday.

Series History: Tuesday's meeting will be the first-ever between the two schools.

Scouting the Eagles: Daniel Webster enters the contest still in search of its first win of the season. The tilt with the Falcons will be the squad's first road game of the spring. DWC has been outscored, 42-12, this year. The team averages 14 shots per game and has won 15 draw controls. In net, Madison Wood has a .571 save percentage to go along with 56 saves in 180 minutes of play. Offensively, Amanda Dargie leads the team in goals with six, while Brittany Tierney has added two markers and two assists for four total points.

Series History: Mitchell won the only contest between the two schools during the 2014 season. Last year's contest was postponed and then later cancelled. In the first-ever meeting between the two, the Mariners netted a 26-17 victory.

Scouting Mitchell: The Mariners dropped their season opener, 13-3, at Rhode Island College last Thursday. In the contest, junior Amanda Rowan registered an assist, three caused turnovers and a game-high seven ground balls. Classmate Willeen Pun equaled Rowan's effort in ground balls. In net, enior Samantha Ryan turned away eight offerings in the loss. Offensively, Katie McBride scored two of the team's three goals.

Last Year Against the Saints: Emmanuel scored a 20-4 victory at home versus Albertus Magnus. In the tilt, Kristen Tuleja led the Saints with five goals and two assists as well as 10 shots. Madison Altwies added four goals, while Emily Baker tallied three goals to go along with an assist. Four different Falcons found the back of the net in a losing effort.

Scouting Emmanuel: The Saints enter the week in the midst of two-game skid having dropped contests to SUNY Potsdam in Florida and Emerson at home. The squad averages over 11 goals per game and 27 shots a contest. In three games, Emmanuel has won 35 draw controls and grabbed 59 ground balls. Offensively, Kristen Tuleja has a team-high 10 goals, while Sarah Higgins has seven goals and four assists four 11 points. Emily Baker leads the team in points with 12 (6 goals + 6 assists). In net, Lauren White has made 21 saves and amassed a .309 save percentage.

Albertus Notes:
- Junior Amanda Montano, senior Miranda Jassil and freshman Aida Sarr all scored unassisted goals in the season opener for Albertus Magnus. Jassil leads the team with two ground balls, while Sarr, Montano and Jassil all have two draw controls apiece.
- In net, AMC freshman Lexie Fenn turned aside four shots in a losing effort versus Framingham State.
