New Haven, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team lost to visiting Saint Joseph's of Maine, 19-3, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Saturday afternoon at Celentano Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Joseph's of Maine opened regulation with four straight-goals, including a pair from Brittney Arsenault, until the 17:18 mark as Courtney Cacace (Brookfield, Conn.) found the back of the net for her first of the game, breaking the Falcons' silence, 4-1.
Shortly after, the Monks rallied off four straight goals to take a commanding 8-1 lead with 9:04 remaining in the half. Sophomore Sabrina Pohlig (West Palm Beach, Fla.) would score the final goal of the half for the Falcons after receiving a nice pass from senior Alex Chan (Monroe, N.Y.).
Down seven, 9-2, entering the second, Albertsu Magnus saw the Monks' lead grow to 13, 15-2 with 21:22 left to play. Cacace would score her second goal of the game at the 14:48 mark thanks to an assist from Kaitlyn D'Agostino (Hamden, Conn.), but it wasn't enough to make a full comback as the Monks secured the road win.

- Elyse Caiazzo packed the Monks' attack with a team-high six points, behind five goals and an assist, as well as posted eight ground balls, eight draw control wins and three caused turnovers.
- Sophomore Courtney Cacace (Brookfield, Conn.) posted a team-best two goals while sophomore Sabrina Pohlig (West Palm Beach, Fla.) added a goal of her own for the Falcons.
- Albertus Magnus was 10-of-22 in clears and 1-of-2 in free position shots.
- Saint Joseph's of Maine finished 17-of-17 in clears and 4-of-9 in free position shots.
- The Monks outshot the Falcons, 51-13 and posted a 19-5 advantage in draw controls.
- Junior Sasha Byrd (Hamden, Conn.) tallied a game-high four ground balls while Kaitlyn D'Agostino (Hamden, Conn.), Korina Zelaya (Trumbull, Conn.) and Pohlig added an additional two ground balls a piece.
