Boston, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team fell on the road to Simmons College, 22-6, on Saturday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) clash at Daly Field. The Falcons were led offensively by Courtney Cacace (Brookfield, Conn.), Aida Sarr (Bronx, N.Y.) and Alix Hughes (Trumbull, Conn.) who each scored two goals apiece in the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Simmons opened regulation play with a two-goal lead until the 27:26 mark as Hughes would find the back of the net for her fifth goal of the season to cut the Sharks' lead in half, 2-1. However, Simmons would go on an 8-0 scoring run to take a commanding 10-1 lead. At the 13:39 mark, Cacace would score on a free position attempt to make the score, 10-2, but Simmons would remain ahead at the half, 15-3.
Two minutes into the second, Sarr would score the Falcons' fourth goal of the game before the hosts netted three-straight goals to extend their lead to 18-4. With 16:32 remaining, Cacace would find the back of the net for her second of the day, but the Sharks would close out regulation with a 4-1 run to seal the home win, 22-6.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Simmons posted an 11-10 edge in ground balls as well as forced eight of the Falcons's 19 turnovers.
- Molly Reinhold paced the Sharks' offense with a team-best seven goals and an assist for eight points while Mallory Cottam posted four goals and two assists for six points.
- Reinhold and Cottam also led the hosts with six draw controls.
- Cacace and Kaitlin D'Agostino (Hamden, Conn.) recorded a team-best four draw controls each for the Falcons.
- Along with Cacace, sophomore Sabrina Pohlig (West Palm Beach, Fla.) collected a team-high two ground balls.
- Albertus Magnus finished the game 2-of-6 in free position shots and was 8-for-14 in clears.
- Simmons posted four free position goals and was 8-of-12 in clears.
- The Sharks won the draw control battle, 20-10, as well as outshot the visitors 34-13.
