Women's Lacrosse Tabbed 10th in GNAC Preseason Poll

Winthrop, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team was picked to finish 10th in the 2019 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll. The poll, which was released on Thursday afternoon, is voted on by the league's 12 head coaches.

The Falcons earned 30 points to finish two points ahead of 11th-place Anna Maria College. Johnson & Wales University received nine of a possible 12 first-place votes to take the top spot with 138 points. Lasell College finished second in the ledger, receiving 132 points overall and two first-place nods.

Saint Joseph's of Maine came in at No. 3 in the poll with the remaining first-place tally and 118 points. Regis College and Simmons University rounded out the top five, as the Pride received 101 points and the Sharks garnered 95.

Making up the remainder of the poll was Colby-Sawyer with 86 points, Norwich University with 78 points, Emmanuel College with 58 points, Rivier University with 49 points followed by the Falcons, the AMCATS and Saint Joseph's (CT) with 23 points.

The women's lacrosse team opens the 2019 campaign on Saturday, March 2nd with a home tilt against Mount Saint Vincent's.

Founded in 1995, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 13 member institutions and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region. Each year, the GNAC sponsors and administers 20 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunities and community involvement.
