Winthrop, Mass. - Freshman Madison Neilander (Wallingford, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team was named this week's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
In a stellar 3-0 week for the Falcons, the freshman recorded 13 goals and two assists for 15 points, while also collecting nine ground balls, 20 draw controls and caused six turnovers. She kicked off the week recording a career-high 11 draw controls to go along with four goals, two assists and two ground balls in the win at Dean. Neilander recorded another four-goal game in the win over Bay Path on Thursday and capped the week with a five-goal performance in the GNAC win over Rivier.
Albertus returns to action on Saturday, April 6 with a road GNAC showdown against Colby Sawyer. Game time is set for 12:00PM in New London, N.H.
