Women's Lacrosse Suffers Home Loss to Saint Joseph’s (Me.) on Senior Day

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team suffered a 15-3 home loss to Saint Joseph's (Me.) College on Saturday afternoon.

Before the start of today's game, the Falcons celebrated their 2022 Senior Day. AMC recognized Katherine Raposo (Warwick, R.I.) and Bridget Rosikiewicz (Naugatuck, Conn.) in a pregame ceremony for their dedication to the team over their careers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Monks controlled the action in the first quarter, netting all five goals in the frame. SJC scored the first two goals of the second period, taking a 7-0 advantage with 8:21 remaining in the first half.

Albertus halted the Saint Joseph's run at the 4:40 mark of the second on a goal by Raposo. Alexandra Barrett (Northford, Conn.) lofted a pass to Raposo in the arc, where she turned and beat the keeper. The Monks scored the final two goals of the frame to build a 9-1 advantage heading into the halftime break.

SJC added to its lead in the third quarter with three of the frame's four goals. Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) netted AMC's strike in the period. Raposo found a slashing Riccio for a goal to the bottom corner of the cage.

The Monks iced the GNAC win in the fourth quarter, netting three more goals to seal a 15-3 final score. Barrett recorded Albertus' final tally at the 8:30 mark of the fourth, firing a Riccio pass by the opposing keeper to her left side.
