Norwich Jumps Out To Big Lead, Defeat Women's Lacrosse

NORTHFIELD, VT. - The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team lost a 24-1 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game on Saturday evening to Norwich University.

Samantha Helwig (Northford, Conn.) scored the lone goal for the Falcons.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Cadets jumped out to an early 1-0 lead just 40 seconds into the game as Athena Merck scored. Norwich had seven different players score the first seven goals of the game, and it eventually took an 11-0 lead after the first period after two goals from Merck, Tori Jarvis and Julia Proto.
  • Jarvis scored two more times in the second as the Cadets went up 15-0 into the break.
  • With 2:45 left in the third and the Falcons down, 19-0 Helwig got Albertus on the board.
  • Norwich added five more goals in the fourth on five different scorers. Merck scored her fourth.
