The Albertus Magnus women's soccer team fell to Trinity (Conn.) 4-1 on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.  The win moves the Bantams to 5-0 on the year, while the Falcons fall to 4-3-2 overall.

Trinity controlled the ball offensively for a majority of the first half but was unable to capitalize on any scoring opportunities until late in the period, despite taking 11 shots.  Within the final three minutes of the first half, Rachel Zanko ripped a shot that hit off the cross bar and then took a backwards bounce to get into the back of the net just out of the reach of Falcon goalkeeper Maria Case (West Haven, Conn.).

At the break, the Bantams led 1-0 and outshot the Falcons 11-1 in the opening frame.

The Bantams came out in the second half and score three more goals to take a 4-0 lead.  Kelsey Thomas, Julia Leahy and Abbey Lake all scored.

The Falcons broke the shutout in the second half as senior Amanda Roke (Cheshire, Conn.) scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season and the 22nd of her career.  Senior Shelley Mirmina (Milford, Conn.) assisted on the play for her second of the season.

Case finished the contest with a career-high 11 saves, while Trinity's Monica DiFiori made two stops in net for the unbeaten Bantams.

Albertus returns to action on Saturday when they take on Rivier at 3:30 p.m. in Nashua, N.H. in league play.
