Shelley Mirmina (Milford, Conn.) scored three goals against Mount Ida College (1-8, 0-4 GNAC) as the Albertus Magnus women's soccer team (6-3-2, 3-1 GNAC) imposed a 6-1 victory Wednesday afternoon at Celentano Field in New Haven, Connecticut.

It only took 1:05 for the Falcons to strike on their first goal. After a mishit from the keeper, Amanda Roke (Cheshire, Conn.) knocked a simple header to Mirmina who took a touch and ripped a shot on the ground. The shot was deflected by a defender and rolled just inside the near post.

It took only three minutes for the Falcons to strike again, this time Mirmina assisting on the attack. Mirmina crossed the ball on the ground to freshman midfielder Danielle Polvan (East Haven, Conn.) who hit the ball one time into the top netting.

In the 10th minute Mirmina struck again, dangling a defender on the left side and beating her to the goal line just inside the 18 yard line. Mirmina took a shot from a very acute angle but snuck it over the goalkeepers head and into the side netting.

Gabrielle Roberts (Plymouth, Conn.) added to the Falcons' attack with another goal in the 28th minute. Roberts took a shot that was blocked but took a fortuitous bounce right back to her foot as she tried with a second attempt that this time found the back of the net. This was Roberts' second goal of the season.

The Falcons ended the half very accurate with their shots, taking five total shots and scoring on four of them.

The second half started off as promising as the first as Polvan scored her second goal of the game. Roke recorded her 13th and 14th assists of her career in the game, coming within one assist of the all-time assist record previously set by Danielle Figueroa '13 which is 15.

In the 53rd minute, Mirmina added to her stellar day as she put in another goal. Her third goal of the day doubled her season total to six on the year.

The Mustangs finally broke the shutout in the 70th minute on an impressive goal from Briana Tomaselli. Tomaselli beat the central defender on the right side and beat the keeper far post on the ground.

The Falcons improve their record to 3-1 in the GNAC and 6-3-2 overall. They look to improve their record this weekend against Saint Joseph's College (Maine) at 1:00 p.m. at Celentano Field in New Haven, Connecticut.
