NSCAA All-New England List

Albertus Magnus women's soccer seniors Shannon Skidmore (Terryville, Conn.) and Shelley Mirmina (Milford, Conn.) have earned NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-New England Region honors as announced by the NSCAA on Tuesday. Skidmore was named to the First Team, making her the first Falcon women's soccer player to receive such recognition, while Mirmina was named to the Second Team, another first for the program.

Skidmore was named the 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Defensive Player of the Year this past season and earned a spot on the GNAC All-Conference First Team.

She finished the year with two goals for four points and led the Falcon defense to 10 team shutouts on the year, while allowing just 17 goals scored.

Mirmina led the Falcons with 11 assists on the year as she added seven goals for 25 points.  Her 16 assists put her in a tie for most assists in a single-season on the Falcons' women's soccer all-time list.  She also tallied 85 shots on the year.

The Falcons finished the season 14-5-3 for the most wins in program history.

A year ago, the Falcons' Sam Farley was the program's first-ever All-New England selection.

On this year's list, there were six players from the GNAC, while Skidmore was the only GNAC player on the First Team.

The NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America Teams are scheduled to be released Friday, Dec. 6.
