South Hadley, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team fell on the road to Mount Holyoke, 1-0, on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action under the lights at MHC Field.

In the first-ever meeting between the two squads, the Lyons (4-3) used a second-half strike to take down the visiting Falcons (2-4-1).

Mount Holyoke freshman forward Hannah Finn-Erb broke a scoreless tie midway through the second stanza as she converted a pass from sopohmore Sara Sanau Ruiz for the eventual game-winner. The marker was Finn-Erb's team-high fourth of the season and the first game-winner of her career.

In net, Albertus Magnus sophomore goalkeeper Lexie Fenn (Oakville, Conn.) had another strong outing, turning aside three shots in a losing effort. On the opposite end, senior Zoe Marshall made eight saves en route to her second clean sheet of the season and the 10th shutout of her career.

For the Falcons, junior midfielder Angelina Piccirillo (Naugatuck, Conn.) had a team-best three shots on goal, while senior Danielle Polvan (East Haven, Conn.) fired two shots on target. Three other Albertus Magnus players each took one shot on goal apiece.

Albertus Magnus controlled most of the possesion and outshot the hosts, 17-8. Mount Holyoke took seven corner kicks compared to four for the guests.

It is a quick turnaround for Albertus Magnus as the team returns to action on Wednesday, September 21, with a home non-conference clash against in-state foe Mitchell at 6:00pm. In the meeting between the two squads last fall, the Falcons scored a 5-0 victory against the Mariners in New London.
